A few months ago, I was standing in the kitchen, staring at a pack of chicken breasts, wondering what to make. It was one of those days when I didn’t want anything too complicated, but I also didn’t want the usual bland chicken. So, I pulled out honey, garlic, and a few pantry staples, hoping to create something flavorful and easy. The result? This honey garlic chicken breast recipe became an instant hit with my family. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and savory, with tender chicken coated in a sticky, flavorful glaze. Now, it’s one of my go-to recipes for weeknights or when I need something quick but satisfying.
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (165°F internal temperature). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2–3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes.
Plate the chicken and drizzle any extra sauce over the top.
