In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.
Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal portions and form each portion into a small patty, slightly smaller than the buns.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Add the patties and cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
Place a slice of cheese on each patty about 1 minute before the patties are done cooking. Cover the pan to help the cheese melt.
Toast the slider buns in the skillet or oven for a minute or two, if desired.
Place each cooked patty on a bun and add your favorite toppings (ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, etc.).
Serve hot and enjoy your mini sliders with your favorite sides!
